  Comment: ICZN Opinion 1202 (1982:91-94) gives priority to Colobinae Jerdon 1867 over Presbytinae Gray 1825 whenever they are applied to the same family group taxon; Brandon-Jones (1978:69-70) further notes that Colobinae Jerdon 1867 is to be retained over Semnopithecidae Owen 1843 on the basis of ICZN Article 40. As noted by the parenthetical '(1825)' after Colobinae Jerdon 1867, this name has official priority of the earlier 'replaced' name, from 1825
