 Comments

Comment: Originally spelled -erii, which is treated as a correctable error and changed to -eri under ICBN Rec. 60C.1. See also comments under Neanotis foetida, Anotis foetida and Hedyotis foetida on why each of those is illegitimate. Neanotis hohenackeri P. Daniel & Vajr. is currently the correct name for the taxon unless H. subtilis Miq. (not mentioned by those authors, or Lewis) is included as a heterotypic synonym, in which case a new combination ('Neanotis subtilis') would have to be published based on Miquel's name. This synonymy appears not to have been asserted or refuted in any recent publication, though it seems likely based on type localities alone
