  Comment: The type locality of Termes panamaensis (Snyder, 1923) is Barro Colorado, Panama; recently collected Termes material from Jalisco and Oaxaca, Mexico bears close resemblance to Termes panamaensis (Snyder, 1923) although slight differences in the shape of the frontal projections indicate that it may be a new species (Cancello and Myles, 2000)
