  Comment: Golvan (1994) writes, 'P. cetaceum sensu Schmidt et Dailey, 1971: probably is not a true synonym of Corynosoma cetaceum Johnston et Best, 1942 because the acanthocephalans examined by Schmidt & Dailey (1971) were from the Rio de la Plata (Uruguay) and the C. cetaceum sensu stricto of Johnston and Best (1942) were from South Australia!'
