 Comments

Comment: Although the name was given by Willemoes-Suhm (1875:247) as 'Willemoesia crucifera, n. sp.', it is clear that this is the same species originally named as 'Deidamia crucifer' and attributed to Willemoes-Suhm by Thomson (1873:247), and that Willemoes-Suhm was aware of the works published by Thomson (referred to explicitly on p.50), and vice versa. Note also that the feminine form of adjectival epithets ending in -fer is also -fer (masculine & feminine forms are identical), so it should have been given as crucifer, not crucifera
