 Comments

Comment: In 1869 Mulsant wrote regarding "Description de l'Antophora[sic] Passerini, espèce nouvelle." (roughly translated): "Obs. This species had been described some time earlier by Smith (Catal. Hymenopt. Brit. Mus. 1853. 1320.2) under the name Habropoda ezonata. But Sichel rightly observes that it must come back to the genus Anthophora, or that if we want to conserve G. Habropoda, we must include in this new section all the other species of Anthophores whose males have posterior pattese thickened, such as A. femorata. Latr. tarsata, Sichel, etc. (Ann. Soc. Entom. De Fr. 1856. Bullet. P. 9)
