  Comment: The type locality of Heterotermes tenuis (Hagen, 1858) is Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; Heterotermes tenuis (Hagen, 1858) appears to have a mainly Antillean distribution but was also recorded by Snyder (1949) from South and Central America; its presence in Mexico is questionable
