  Comment: The specific epithet was originally spelled frontàta. Corrected to frontata per ICZN 32.5.2.1  
    Cresson in 1869 listed Anthophora frontata Say, 1837 as a "Species not recognized" and stated that it was "Near abrupta, Say."; while Dours in 1869 listed it as "Incerta Sedis. Mihi Incognitae" (unknown to me) on page 194 of his 1869 "Monographie Iconographique du Genre Anthophora Lat. (Extrait des Mémoires de la Société linnéenne du Nord de la France.)"
