Although Purenleon nubipennis (Navás, 1917) (originally in Formicaleo, pater in Psammoleon) is treated as valid in Stange (2004:217), it is not mentioned in the recent revision of the genus by Miller & Stange (2014). Stange (pers. comm., June 2015) indicates that the name should be regarded as a nomen dubium, as it has no type and a poor description: 'The type has not been located and the description doesn't seem to fit the species known from Colombia.' He indicates that further sampling in that part of Columbia may help resolve its status, but for now it should remain in limbo
