Fricke, R., Eschmeyer, W. N. & Van der Laan, R. (eds) 2021. ESCHMEYER'S CATALOG OF FISHES: GENERA, SPECIES, REFERENCES. (http://researcharchive.calacademy.org/research/ichthyology/catalog/fishcatmain.asp). Electronic version accessed 01 Feb 2021
Journal/Book Name, Vol. No.:
Originally given as 'C. Rüppelii' ('C.' represents subgenus Ctenodon in genus Acanthurus). However, Swainson explicitly refers to 'Dr. Rüppell' in this work (bottom of p.231, and index p.433), so it is clear that the single-L is to be taken as an inadvertent error that is to be corrected (per ICZN Art. 32.5.1). Additionally, the -ü- is to be corrected to -ue- (Art. 184.108.40.206), yielding the 'correct original spelling' rueppellii. Note that this is technically not a homonym of Bennett's name, 'Acanthurus Ruppelii' (corrected to ruppellii), given the one-letter difference (see also Art. 58, where -u- and -ue- are not listed as equivalent)
