  Comment: Evidently 'Rhantus notatus (Fabricius, 1781)' is based on Dytiscus notatus which appeared in Species Insectorum vol. 1 (Fabricius, 1781, p.296), but in that work he clearly attributed the name to Bergsträsser. Nilsson & Holmen (1995, p. 137) list Fabricius' use in the synonymy of Rhantus frontalis (Marsham, 1802), but Nilsson & Hájek (2021) list Fabricius' use in the synonymyy of Agabus nebulosus (Forster, 1771)
