  Comment: While Baba et al. (2008) tentatively recognized Munida sagamiensis Doflein, 1902 as accepted, they note that the type is lost and the identity of the species is questionable. Previous treatments have placed it in synonymy with Munida heteracantha Ortmann, 1892 (see Macpherson and Baba, 1993)
