  Comment: Although Mazur (1997:74-75) treats Cylistus Dejean, 1837 as a nomen nudum, instead using Cylistix Marseul, 1857 as a valid name, Ôhara & Mazur (2002:13) conclude that Cylistus Dejean, 1833 (not 1837) is available (and valid as a subgenus of Platysoma) and Cylistix Marseul, 1857 is an unjustified emendation. Further, Bosquet & Laplante note that the latter was incorrectly attributed to Marseul 1853
