  Comment: Lampsilis orbiculata (Hildreth 1828) is often used incorrectly as a synonym of Lampsilis abrupta (Say 1831) (e.g., Parmalee and Bogan 1998 [page 123]), but this issue was resolved by Frierson (Frierson 1924, 1927 in Williams et al. 2008 [page 336])
