 Comments

Comment: Ceratina rufipes (Hirashima, 1969) (originally described in Pithitis) is an unresolved junior secondary homonym of Ceratina rufipes Smith, 1879; there is no available name in synonymy and no replacement name has yet been published
Some have questioned "Pithitis rufipes Hirashima 1969" (ICZN Art. 11.5 & 15.1?), but Baker (1997) notes it "was perhaps published inadvertently, but a description was given and the name, which must be attributed to Hirashima, is nevertheless valid"
