  Comment: Martes flavigula aterrima (Pallas, 1811) is included in the hardcopy published book Mammal Species of the World edition 3, vol. 1 (Wilson and Reeder, eds., 2005), but the name is omitted from the online website adaptation of MSW3  
    Without a recent taxonomic revision, these taxa cannot be attributed under other subspecies; pending new revision, they should be recognized (pers. comm. Alexei Abramov, 26 May 2025)
