  Comment: Comments: Subgenus Sorex, S. araneus group. Possibly related or conspecific with Sorex antinorii (Brünner et al., 2002a), although its karyotype has not been studied yet. Genetically well distinguished from araneus (Lapini et al., 2001), but morphological differences between both species weak (Breda, 2002)
