  Comment: Comments: Gregory and Hellman (1939) followed Chenu and Desmarest (1852), and suggested placing Eupleres in a separate family; however, Pocock (1915a), Albignac (1973, 1974), Petter (1974), Coetzee (1977b), and Wozencraft (1989b) included it in Viverridae.
