  Comment: Schrom (1972) elevated the subgenus Chaetonotus (Halichaetonotus) Remane, 1936 and retained all of the previously assigned species. However, he did not mention Chaetonotus tentaculatus d'Hont 1972 (TSN 58041) possibly due to the timing of publication. Kisielewski (1997) retained it as incertae sedis under the parent genus Chaetonotus Ehrenberg, 1830 (TSN 57824)
