  Comment: Bechstein gave names to 'Abänderungen' or aberrations consisting of fully or partial melanistic, luteistic, or albinistic birds. For Coloeus monedula he described torquata (with a white collar, p. 446), candida (all white, p. 446), nigra (all black, p. 447), crucifera (with a cross-bill, p. 447), and varia (white wings and tail, p. 447). These appear to be infrasubspecific entities, and per ICZN Article 45.6.1 the names are not available
