  Comment: Although Tachardiidae Green 1896 is senior to Kerriidae Lindinger 1937, some workers advocate for retaining Kerriidae as being 'in prevailing usage' (which is not clearly defined), others assert that neither name qualifies as being in prevailing usage, so chronological priority must be followed (unless the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature can be convinced to rule in favor of Kerriidae).
