 Comments

Comment: From Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes: Rafinesque (1819) equated Amblodon with Aplodinotus based on erroneous description of dentition in Amblodon, but switched bubalus (type of Amblodon) to a new name Ictiobus (1820). Amblyodon Agassiz (1846) is an unjustified emendation. Amblodon was suppressed (for priority) in favor of Ictiobus (Opinion 1582)
