 Comments

Comment: Peters (1945) misattributes the author of Trochilus beryllinus as Lichtenstein, 1830; see Peterson in Zoonomen
Stresemann (1954) points out that descriptions based on Wilhelm Deppe's collections and appearing in the 01 September 1930 'Preis-Verzeichniss der Säugethiere, Vögel, Amphibien, Fische und Krebse, welche von den Herren Deppe und Schiede in Mexico gesammelt worden, und bei dem unterzeichneten Bevollmächtigten in Berlin gegen baare Zahlung in Preuss', the price list of zoological and botanical specimens from Mexico for sale to European museums and dealers, while historically ascribed to Lichtenstein, are truly the work of Deppe who signed responsibility for the list
