  Comment: Lawrence and Newton (1995: 902-903) point out that "Euglenidae Seidlitz (1875) has priority over Aderidae for the family and nominotypical subfamily names. However, in Opinion 1549 (ICZN 1989b) Euglenidae Seidlitz was emended to Euglenisidae to remove the family name homonymy, and Aderidae was given precedence over Euglenisidae whenever these two names are considered synonyms"  
    Spelling emended to Euglenesidae to avoid homonymy & Aderidae given precedence by ICZN
