 Comments

Comment: Bombus pyrenaeus Pérez, 1879 is an unresolved junior secondary homonym of Psithyrus pyrenaeus Lepeletier, 1832 originally described in Annales de la Société Entomologique de France 1: 366-382, and in need of a replacement name. Williams (1998) suggests that Bombus tenuifasciatus is a possible candidate for the replacement name because it is the oldest available, but that in the interest of stability due to common usage Bombus pyrenaeus Perez, 1879 should remain valid, and suppress the senior homonym (in prep)
