Friese published Centris variabilis Friese, 1900 (now as Epicharis maculata Smith, 1874 (TSN 699139)) as a replacement name  
    Centris maculata (Smith, 1874) (now as Epicharis maculata Smith, 1874 (TSN 699139)) is a junior secondary homonym of Centris maculata Lepeletier, 1841 (now as Centris decolorata Lepeletier, 1841 (TSN 699028))
