  Comment: Walker (1871:56, 57) used the name Anthophora bimaculifera twice, each time for a female specimen. Dalla Torre (1896:260) notes both and apparently believed these to be different species; for one he used the name Podalirius bimaculifer, while for the other he created the new name Podalirius bimaculosus. At least one of these is now understood to be a junior synonym of Amegilla niveocincta (Smith, 1854)
