Molecular phylogeny of advanced snakes (Serpentes, Caenophidia) with an emphasis on South American Xenodontines: a revised classification and descriptions of new taxa
Journal/Book Name, Vol. No.:
Papéis Avulsos de Zoologia (São Paulo), vol. 49, no. 11
Although tribes were used in Xenodontinae, they were not used in Dipsadinae (Zaher et al. 2009 wrote 'We refrain from defining tribes within Dipsadinae in the present analysis since we have sampled little of the diversity within this large group'). When Xenodontinae was synonymized under Dipsadinae, ITIS opted to stop using the tribes of the former Xenodontinae until the subdivisions of the group are re-assessed
