  Comment: Kerzhner (1992:50) notes that Ptilocnemus Westwood was established as a replacement name for Ptilocerus Gray, so they are homotypic. He suggests a 'ruling of the Commission is necessary to fix H. lemur as type species of Ptilocnemus and to conserve Ptilocnemis in the generally accepted sense.' This does not appear to be done as of 2018, unfortunately
