 Comments

Comment: Status: IUCN - Least Concern
Comments: Antilope tragocamelus Pallas, 1766, was based on accounts of the "tragelaphus" by Caius, Gesner and Ray and on Parsons' (1745) description of a male nilgai in London (here designated the lectotype), which had first been "brought to Bengal, from a very remote part of the Mogul's Dominions"
