 Comments

Comment: Mulsant & Rey (1852) gave a description under the heading 'Microvelia fuscata,' but the accompanying illustration is labeled Mesovelia furcata. Under 'Errata' in the same volume following page 310, it says 'Page 139. ligne 22. microvelia fuscata, lisez : mesovelia furcata.' According to the Code (ICZN, Art. 32x), 'fuscata' thus constitutes an 'incorrect original spelling' and is therefore unavailable, while the 'correct original spelling' and original combination is 'Mesovelia furcata' (Aukema & Rieger, 1995, p. 78).
