  Comment: Aeschna virens Charpentier, 1840 is a junior subjective synonym of Aeshna viridis Eversmann, 1836, an Old World species. The New World species Aeshna virens Rambur 1842, (later transferred to Coryphaeschna), was given another name (viriditas) by Calvert in 1952
