  Comment: From Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes, 2021: Cyprinella whipplei Girard 1856 was "Originally as whipplii, presumably named for Lt. A. W. Whipple by authors; the spelling whipplii is correctly formed, but the spelling whipplei probably can be retained on the basis of Art. 33.2.3.1 of the Code," and gives the current name as Cyprinella whipplei Girard 1856.
