  Comment: Solari (2008) indicates that Pirlot (1967) clearly intended to name Micronycteris megalotis homezi to honor J. Homez and A. Homez, but erroneously used the termination -i as if the name were intended to honor only one male individual. It is argued that the species name constitutes an incorrect original spelling under the current Code (Art. 32.3 and 32.5), and that spelling for this name should be corrected to Micronycteris megalotis homezorum Pirlot, 1967. There remain some issues with this interpretation, as Art. 31.1.2, where the instructions are found for this type of name formation, has no corrective prescription for names that are not formed properly in this way, as it amounts to an error in Latinization, which is specifically not to be treated as an 'inadvertent error' that must be correced under Art. 32.5.1. Changes to resolve this dilemma are expected in the 5th Edition of the ICZN, so for now ITIS will follow prevailing usage in adopting the corrected epithet
