  Comment: Per Zoonomen website the specific epithet 'leucorynchus' appears to be an unjustified emendation. The text of the name in the original description is 'leucoryn. LANIUS niger, rostro pectore abdomine uropygioque albis.' If the name 'leucoryn' is interpreted as an abbreviation, or in some way requiring completion then the rationale for that must be given. It is not supportable on the basis or the period '.' at the end of the name in the original publication.
