  Comment: It is unclear what this name, 'Agonum americanum LeConte, 1848,' represents, but it is probably an error. It was listed in Erwin et al. (1977:4.26) with an indication that it came from page 256 of a LeConte work, and the type locale as 'America.' No further reference to this name, or explanation of its origin or status was located. Major LeConte works of the era were located, and page 256 examined where they existed. It seems best to treat this as a nomen dubium
