  Comment: Originally given as Typhlops nigricauda, and the epithet must be regarded as a noun in apposition per ICZN Arts. 31.2.1-2 (Shea, 2015:112), and not be changed to match the gender of the current species. Thus, if recognized in Anilios, the name must be Anilios nigricauda, not Anilios 'nigricaudus'
