 Comments

Comment: Holotrichius luctuosus Reuter, 1891 is a junior secondary homonym of Holotrichius luctuosus (Mulsant and Mayet, 1870), and was replaced by Holotrichius reuterianus Dispons, 1961. Since this is junior to the subspecies name Holotrichius luctuosus pallescens Reuter 1891, the full species apparently should be given as H. pallescens, with subspecies H. pallescens pallescens & H. p. reuterianus. Alternatively, there were other 'varieties' Reuter also placed in the species that could have been used in place of the junior homonym
