  Comment: For the moment, ITIS is following the treatment in Dickinson (ed., 2003) and Zoonomen (Peterson, 2006), which retain Atalotriccus pilaris as the sole species that genus (but with several subspecies); these are apparently following Ridgely & Tudor's 1994 work, The Birds of South America, vol. 2. Some, such as AOU (1998), follow Lanyon (1988) in lumping them into Lophotriccus
