 Comments

Comment: Eschmeyer (online Catalog of Fishes, 2004) cites the original publication as "Cope, E. D. 1867 [Ref ID: 18027] Supplement on some new species of American and African fishes. Trans. Am. Philos. Soc. v. 13 (pt 2): 400-407. [See Cope 1867 [ref. 910].]" In the entry for Eschmeyer's reference 910, he notes, "[Read in 1866, separates distributed in 1867, bound part III distributed in 1869; not as per Gilbert 1971 [ref. 19710], but see Gilbert 1998:150 [ref. 23395]" Correct publication date for this species follows Eschmeyer's determination
