    Comments: Includes cinnamomeus; see Koopman (1975). Several poorly defined subspecies are often recognized, but there seems little justification for separation of these taxa. Reviewed in part by Harrison and Bates (1991); see Taylor (2000a) for distribution map  
    Final epithet spelled 'schlieffeni' by Wilson & Reeder, eds. (2005), but the original and correct spelling is 'schlieffenii' (Peters, 1859)
