  Comment: Originally published name Iva xanthifolia Nutt. (1817:185) is correctable to Iva xanthiifolia (ICBN Art. 60.8). While Cyclachaena xanthiifolia Fresen. and Iva xanthiifolia Nutt. have sometimes been treated as homotypic synonyms, Fresenius made no direct or indirect reference to Iva xanthiifolia or to Nuttall in his publication (Pruski, 2005); thus, the two are heterotypic synonyms at most
