  Comment: Miller and Brown (1981) note that the homonymy in this name is complicated and controversial. Papilio thaumas Fabricius, 1793 is considered by Miller and Brown (1981) as a likely emendation of Papilio taumas Fabricius, 1787, in which case both names are preoccupied by Papilio thaumas Hufnagel, 1766 (see Hodges 1983 and Pelham 2008)
