 Comments

Comment: Microphryne Methuen and Hewitt, 1913 is preoccupied by Microphryne Peters, 1874. Trachymantis Methuen, 1920 is the replacement name, but it too is preoccupied by Trachmantis Giglio-Tos, 1917. Laurentomantis is the replacement name for Trachymantis and has been placed in synonymy with Mantidactylus. However, the type species for Microphryne Methuen and Hewitt, 1913 (Microphryne malagasia Methuen and Hewitt, 1913, by definition the type species of the two replacement names as well) is now a valid species in Gephyromantis, as Gephyromantis malagasius (Methuen and Hewitt, 1913). Unless that species is moved, that genus is where all three names would belong in synonymy
