 Comments

Comment: LSID urn:lsid:marinespecies.org:taxname:529453 associated with the scientific name Cladolabes limaconotus (Brandt, 1835) acquired on 15 October, 2015
Brandt writes in the header of the species description the name limaconctos, and in the footnote providing the etymology writes limacontos. Heding and Panning (1954) cite both of those names, but do not select one. Instead they latinize the name to limaconotus on page 121. However incorrect latinization is not considered an inadvertant error and is not correctable under ICZN Article 32.5. Per ICZN Article 24.2 the only two names competeing for precedence and awaiting determination by the first reviser are limaconctos and limacontos
