  Comment: After a detailed examination of Schlegel's 1837 works, it was noted that the epithet is spelled -i in several places, and -ii in one place. The -i spelling is found in volume 1 (p.171), in the index to volume 2 (index page x), and in the Atlas (List of Plates, Plate XIII, and multiple times in a geographic table). The -ii spelling is found only at the start of the description in volume 2 (p.341), and in page headers on pp.341-343 (although the page headers are the printer's doing alone, so are not further considered here). There appears to be no objective evidence to judge any of the volumes as having been published before or after the others. McDiarmid (personal communication, August 2016) considers the single occurrence of the -ii spelling as a lapsus or printer's error, meaning the correct original spelling is Homalopsis schneideri
