  Comment: Shiino (1976) lists Lethrinus lutjanus (Lacepède), but this is an apparent misspelling and misapplication of the author based on the following comments by Eschmeyer (online Catalog of Fishes, 2004). According to Eschmeyer Lethrinus leutjanus is an "unjustified emendation and objective synonym of Bodianus lentjan Lacepède 1802. Valenciennes referred to 'Bodian lentjean, Lacep. t. IV, p. 294,' providing both the original name (albeit misspelled) and the emended name"
