  Comment: The year of availability is unclear. Kinnear (ITIS, 1925, pp. 484-489) published a careful accounting of the publication date of all the issued parts that contained bird plates (vol. 2 ranged from at least 1832 for part XI, to 1835 for part XX), but unfortunately he only listed the bird plates. Since there is no way from the bound work to know which plates originally came in which parts (they were not issued sequentially), additional research would be required to determine the date each plate was issued (or rather, received by major libraries). This work does not appear to have been done yet, so for the moment ITIS is following McDiarmid et al. (manuscript for vol. 2+ of Snakes of the World) & Wallach et al. (2014:354 & 935) in using 1835 for this name
