  Comment: Frost (2004) considers Rana typhonia Linnaeus, 1758 to be a "nomen oblitum" (forgotten name), nomenclaturally based on Rana typhonia (=Rana Tigerina), but notes that this name has been used (until 1989) "for the species currently known as Bufo margaritifer"
